High Voltage
Professional supervision of the construction of high-voltage (HV) cable lines is key to the longevity of the investment
Our specialists supervised the installation of the high-voltage cable line, confirming the company's readiness to support investors and General Contractors in the most demanding power engineering projects.
The implementation of photovoltaic farm power output projects requires a precise technical approach right from the cable route planning stage. The transition from the preparatory to the execution phase is a moment where professional technical supervision is of key importance. In recent days, the Ania Electrical Centre team has supervised the laying of a high-voltage cable line, confirming the company's readiness to support investors and General Contractors in the most demanding power engineering projects.
The main technical challenges in exporting power from photovoltaic farms to the high-voltage grid are:
Power extraction from large installations OZE The connection to the National Power System is associated with a range of engineering challenges. The most common include:
- The necessity of maintaining strict technical parameters imposed by the Distribution System Operator (DSO).
- Optimising cable route length to minimise transmission losses while considering ground conditions.
- Coordination of earthworks with environmental protection requirements and soil specifics.
- Ensuring continuity of supply through the precise installation of cable accessories, which are the most critical points of any high-voltage line.
Professional preparation of technical and commercial documentation helps to avoid construction downtime, which, in the face of dynamic renewable energy project deadlines, can generate significant costs for the investor.
Cable laying process high voltage must be carried out in full compliance with the manufacturer's stringent guidelines. One of the challenges faced by contractors is the specific nature of the ground. During a recent project for a photovoltaic farm, the route ran through agricultural land where the subsoil layers consisted mainly of marl (calcium carbonate). The variable characteristics of the subsoil require particular attention to route stability and protection of the cable sheath against mechanical damage during installation.
How to monitor tension forces when laying HV cables according to the manufacturer's requirements?
A key element of supervision is the continuous monitoring of technical parameters during laying. In accordance with engineering standards, printouts from the tension force recorder serve as the primary documentation confirming the quality of the work carried out. In the most recent project supervised, in which 3 out of 45 sections of the line, each approximately 700–800 m long, were laid, the laying parameters were maintained within safe limits. It was confirmed that the maximum permissible tensile force of 90% for this type of cable was not exceeded, which guarantees the integrity of the insulation and long-term, trouble-free operation.
Why entrust the supervision of the construction of high-voltage cable lines to a professional team?
Collaboration with specialised engineering staff during installation minimises the risk of construction errors, which may only become apparent during voltage testing or during many years of operation. Our support covers the full scope: from technical consulting, through ongoing supervision of installation work, to the preparation of acceptance documentation and reports for the General Contractor. Upon completion of laying, cables are appropriately protected against external factors, awaiting the installation of cable accessories.
